Faced with an incredible loss at an early age, I found myself in need of additional support outside of my family and friends. It was then that I began my own healing journey and discovered the benefits of a non-judgmental and safe therapeutic relationship; it was here that I created new patterns, new ways of thinking, and newfound compassion for myself. This positive, life-changing experience combined with my unending curiosity about emotional experience and human behavior led me to receive a BA in Psychology from East Carolina University in 2008 and MA in Marriage and Family Therapy from Pfeiffer University in 2012.
I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, a Licensed Clinical Addiction Specialist Associate, and a Registered Yoga Teacher specializing in couples, families, and eating disorders. I have worked with these populations extensively over the past 6 years and my passion only continues to grow.
Through integration of mindfulness techniques, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Narrative Therapy, and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, I aim to help you challenge avoidance and problematic patterns of behavior or thought to create the life you want. Treatment is a journey of self exploration and growth through which I hope to walk with you, not as a leader but as a fellow companion. The goal is to empower, inspire, and create lasting change by approaching issues with non-judgment, warmth, and curiosity.
